The guide presents 101 hike and fly launch sites across the entire Suisse Romande region from Valais to the Jura. Each spot is systematically described and assessed using a new paragliding rating system that evaluates both the difficulty and the exposure of every takeoff. In addition to the classic sites, the guide features numerous lesser known and rarely frequented launches, many of which were discovered during the author’s own exploratory tours.
For every takeoff, pilots will find detailed practical information including elevation gain, orientation, technical level, advantages and limitations, as well as safety notes. Each site provides three QR codes giving access to approach tracks, parking coordinates and useful points of interest. A digital search engine allows users to filter launches by criteria such as elevation gain, orientation and technical difficulty.
The guide is richly illustrated with photos of the launch sites and their approach hikes, making route planning clear and visually intuitive. Designed for all pilot levels from beginners to experienced hike and fly enthusiasts, it offers a comprehensive gateway to discovering the linguistic and cultural diversity of French speaking Switzerland through its mountain landscapes.
The Hike and Fly Guide Suisse Romande is a bilingual work in French and German and serves as both an inspiring and practical companion for exploring the region’s most iconic and most discreet hike and fly spots.
